Common Dental Emergencies
A Fractured or Broken Tooth
When a tooth cracks, the enamel is damaged, but the inside stays intact. Our general dentists will do everything they can to quickly get you out of pain, and come up with a plan to fix your smile. If part of a tooth breaks off, it can leave the nerve exposed leading to a lot of pain and discomfort.
Our general dentists can crown the broken tooth, relieving your pain and saving your smile.
A Tooth is Knocked Out Entirely
If your tooth is still in one piece, there’s a good chance it can be saved and reinserted into your mouth, but only if you hurry. Gently rinse off the tooth, being careful not to damage any of the tissue still attached to it. If possible, place the tooth lightly back in its socket. Don’t apply any pressure. If you can’t do that, put the tooth in milk. The second you’ve completed these steps, come see us. Our general dentists will do everything they can to salvage the tooth.
Other Dental Emergencies
Conditions like infections or abscesses can be very serious and need to be addressed right away. An abscess may require a root canal, and an infected tooth may need to be pulled. The sooner you come see us, the sooner one of our general dentists can assess your situation and choose the best course of treatment.
